A Winter Sun
On Friendship
Trust in the bond.
Confessions of imperfection. Push on the weak points. They give but don’t break.
Fallibilities are safe. Vulnerability encouraged.
A space void of competition. Relaxation sets in as we open. Unfurling the petals of our guarded hearts and minds.
Affection, a palpable presence. Shall we set out an extra cup of tea?
With each burst of laughter, sigh of understanding, nod of compassion, another layer in the foundation is built. Brick by brick. Story by story.
Effortless. A dimming winter sun. The hours weave through our fingers, soft tendrils stretching.
Love. Kinship. Union. Flow. Resplendent and full. Nourished, we give silent thanks to the universe.

Beautiful, dear Maddie
What a perfect poem. I love it all. The first 2 lines--just so on the mark. The last lines = a perfect ending. Thank you for writing and sharing it!
