A beautiful tribute. I am glad you can be gracious about a relationship that ended so tragically. Grief and gratitude are strange bedfellows.

Thank you Chris. I'm many years away from the tragedy so the gratitude perspective took its time. I know you understand. Love you.

Maddie! This was so beautiful. Not to sound whiny, but life is so unfair. Wtf. The world sucks. But also, thank you for writing this because you definitely brought him back.

Maddie this is so, so beautiful. More than just a tribute to your Dad, this really captures who he was, and how much you loved each other. I can picture him so clearly. What a great dad, what a lovely human being.

Oh Maddie this one brings tears. I love every one of your memories. And of course they trigger some of my own. I remember Uncle Seymour lifting me and Rich up by our elbows where we were kids. He was so strong! His laugh was truly infectious. And I have a photo I treasure of him kissing Sarah, an infant in my arms, on my first visit with her to Chicago. Of course he instantly loved her! Thank you for sharing your memories!
